Yeah, we have modern homes here. We also have a lot old homes here too, because we’re part of the 13 original colonies. You know, the founding of this country in which we all live. For example, my house isn’t THAT old by NH standards and it’s still 72 years older than the State of Oklahoma. And built better than any of that new construction shit. Also, in New England, we are frugal people; we don’t just jump to something because it is new.

So maybe Florida is more your speed? Lots of new real estate! No income tax.

I have that. It would be nice if I could find a place where ppl don’t take themselves so seriously and can have a sense of humor but the outside of the home doesn’t advertise “I’m a really old man with a huge prostate” vibes…

I’m really not trying to be a douche - I am seriously asking if there are any non colonial houses anywhere in the state. Serious question.

Yes. Every home on the outside looks like grandpa has lived there for the past 300 years. Even the ones currently under construction being built in 2023. Everything has this boxey, churchy colonial look. Every. Single. House…… Every. Single. Neighborhood. …. In. The. Entire. State!!!! All of them look like the blue prints were just copied from 100 years ago.

I’m just wondering if there is at least one neighborhood that looks like homes are designed in the 21st century?

I grew up here too and I’ve always loved it. My family would take us all over and I think that’s why I loved it. My friends were the same way! They thought it was boring. Left and came back as soon as they could. I was lucky enough to buy property here 6 years ago! And hoping to move to a nicer town further East this summer.

I'm a former New Englander and current Texan so I understand your anxiety. The Freeze™ was legitimately scary but what pissed me off the most was how many blizzards, ice storms, and sub-zero temps I lived through without so much as a second thought in New England. It goes to show you the value of proper infrastructure.

1/4 tank SHOULD get you to Monday. But it’s always a good idea to have 10 gal of kerosene or diesel. And if you need it, it’s better to pour it in your oil fill before you run out of oil.

…although, with that being said, learning to bleed your furnace line after it runs out is a skill to have.

Someone tried to dismiss your post because you've only mentioned Pennsylvania, but shit, going to Pennsylvania is enough to appreciate New Hampshire. I have lived in 3 different states, visited all but 3 states, and I agree with you. I could move anywhere really, but I doubt I'll leave NH. I do like parts of other states and, while I do wish we had better food and shopping, NH has a good mix of people, weather, and scenery.

Everywhere else you visit, NH is where you stay.
