Somewhat strange question, but a friend is looking to rehome their dog. I have fallen hopelessly and completely for this dog and would love to take her, but I am in a lease for 3 more months that can't accept pets due to a roommate's allergies. After that, I would easily be able to adopt this wonderful pup and want nothing more. I'm trying to figure out an idea for these next 3 months of my lease so that I can take her once I am off it. Any suggestions at all? Boarding options are really expensive, but I still might have to go for it.

Humane societies and rescue groups often have lists of fosters available. You could also inquire at your veterinary office for potential fosters.

This is such an interesting option, I'll definitely look into it. Thank you!

You bet. Hope it pans out. The fosters on the list aren’t typically called on for this type of thing but if your story and level of commitment are compelling to them I could see them making an exception.

What breed of dog? And what size?

She's a mutt and a large breed at about 65 pounds.

Damn, that’s too big. 😕 I would foster her for a small fee +dog food, but I have a small apartment that doesn’t allow dogs over 40lbs. Maybe you could find someone with a yard that would do the same.

Just get everything in writing regarding a timeline, how much money you are providing for boarding services, and that it is still YOUR dog. I wish you all luck!
