Hello Everyone, hope you're all doing well and are excited for Christmas.
The Supreme Court in June did away with NJ's old Justifiable Need May Issue standard when it came to concealed carry. That old standard made it almost impossible to obtain a ccw permit, and the court ruling now made it actually possible. However, since October, the state legislature has been fast tracking and is gearing up to pass a bill that would appear to restore the status quo from before the ruling, once again trying to make getting a PTC (Permit to Carry) in NJ into a mere request. This bill would once again allow applicants to be denied through subjective evaluations of "temperament." Increase the costs of fees not only for a PTC, but also for an FID (Firearm ID Card) and Pistol Permit by at least 4x. Extensively increase the required training (which you will also have to pay out of pocket along with the increased fees). And if you actually do manage to go through the process, there is an extensive list of "sensitive places" that appear to be so broad that it virtually makes everywhere in the state a sensitive place, thus making the permit practically worthless.
I just want to know what everyone's thoughts on it are because, in my honest opinion, I don't know how anyone can say this is not unconstitutional.
