If you can figure out how to stop Russia from pissing off the entire world setting off huge seismic shifts in the energy markets, that might get your price per therm down a bit.

I don't think it's possible to choose a different gas supplier. And even if you could it is very unlikely that they would be cheaper anyway. Natural gas prices are up nationwide and this was all over the news back in the Fall so we knew it was coming.

To each his own. I vastly prefer NJ beaches, especially from September-May. Packed? Not hardly.

IMO you’re better off getting an energy audit and upgrading your attic insulation via air sealing top plates and blown in cellulose (high ROI) vs penny pinching gas suppliers. This was our gas energy use before and after new insulation + air sealing: https://imgur.com/gallery/Wo66HZ3
You need to keep the heat in. Also we’ve found if we lower the downstairs furnace to 68° overnight and then bump it to 70°— that burns 30 mins of gas. If we just left it to 70° all night, it would run the same runtimes as if it was 68°. We can maintain it better because of the insulation.

Reply to What is the best way to learn Spanish in New Jersey? Any institute that someone can recommend? by Ok_Selection8626
There are some libraries that have Pimsleur CDs, strongly recommend as a base for starting to learn any language they offer. You can also buy it, I recommend buying them second hand (new is pretty pricy). NJ has a pretty large Spanish speaking community, if you're intent on an institution, I'm sure a course at any community college will more than suffice, and you'll never run out of people to chat with & learn from.

Going to the ocean down South is nice because the beaches are not packed like they are here, rentals are cheaper, and you don't have to sit in miles of traffic getting to/from beach towns. I love the beach/ocean but gave up on the NJ shore years ago.

I grew up in a beach town, house was on a corner of the highway (if we can even call it that) and soooo many people walking in the summer just throw their garbage over my parents fence into the backyard. Happens multiple times every single year, lazy idiots.

Depending on where you are, the food quality can vary, but there's almost always SOMETHING excellent nearby.
I'm gonna go with the sentiment of u/thebongofamandabynes and say, varied activities within easy reach. I went to a drag brunch at a tex-mex cantina, hiked, and went to an outdoor gun club on Sunday, all within 20 minutes of home.

I was a dishwasher when I was 14. I learned a lot of Spanish but none that I could use in school without getting detention.

Absolutely the food. So many options, so many different cuisines. And the beach, proximity to NYC, and as someone else mentioned, the airport. I have so many friends who live in other areas, and anytime they want to go anywhere, they have to take connecting flights, where EWR you can generally fly nonstop, unless you're going to north or west bumblefuck.

I love Hackettstown, cool little downtown with a bunch of restaurants and breweries. Everything you might need is close by. Neighborhoods seem pretty nice, even if some are a little too McMashion'y for my liking.
