My hidden stash of MORE Shoprite bags! After that, I'll start using the non-biodegradeable, $0.33/ea., fabric bags that we are NOW forced to use, of which I have a few dozen in the back seat of my truck! "F" ALL ENVIRONMENTALISTS!

I use the small bathroom trash bags. I know some people also will put regular garbage bags inside one of those plastic litter containers and scoop into there but I don’t care for having an untied bag even with the lid closed because I just have the one cat so it would take forever to fill it and I feel like it smells more.

I was taken there as a young child by my (now passed) Grandmother and had no idea what it was called.

Not a working factory, but you might enjoy the Sterling Mine Tour. Until about 1985 it was a working zinc mine.

Reply to comment by ilovemytvalot in After viewing the Tyre Nichols murder videos, are there any police reform protests happening in New Jersey this weekend? by billmurrayspokenword
I drive through Philly and always have. Driving in certain areas there has gotten more dangerous as people think they can get away with more, and the cops seem to be absent.
I'm all for the cops to stop being revenue generators, but lax enforcement is happening all around and leading to other issues.
I watched a Dodge Journey with no visible tags clip another car while changing lanes last month, smashing the rear bumper of the other vehicle into the tire so they couldn't drive safely. Then the Journey took off. I have a dashcam and pulled over with the other car. Unable to see any ID on the vehicle, police seemed to not really care and said "we can't do anything as there's no registration visible. since we don't really enforce that anymore, it's becoming a problem for these hit and runs. Take it up with the city".

I use them in the bathroom trashcan. For some reason they're unlimited and not biodegradable.
I'm all for the plastic bag ban, but it's odd as these still exist.

No description of the car, driver, or plate, despite all of those things being on the app. No link to an article. No phone number or town for the police.
It's horrifying all right.

If you’re into music or woodworking or just appreciate craftsmanship, the Martin guitar factory in Nazareth, PA is amazing. Yes, I know it isn’t in NJ but it isn’t far. (Edited to include a link).

Reply to Horrifying Lyft Story in NJ. by Boring_Language5662
The whole concept of “ride-sharing” these tech platforms is one of the most deplorable, problematic ideas/realities capitalism has ever hit us with. It’s awful for all involved in the process except for the billionaire tech Bros who own these companies. Years ago, it was common knowledge to never ever get into a vehicle with a stranger. Now folks not only get into a vehicle with a stranger, they give the stranger a location device as to where they are, and where they live and are staying. It’s insanity. The stories at the Jersey Shore in the summer about college bar hoppers having incidents with Uber and Lyft drivers get worse every year. (As well there are honest good hearted drivers being assaulted by passengers). I know in some parts of NJ calling a taxi or taxi van business is not easy. At least at the Shore area, there are countless taxi van companies that have fleets of vehicles with experienced locals who have worked for these companies for years.
