Sabor a Mexico has a great special on Mondays for birria tacos; we’ve tried a couple in town and theirs are the best (plus all the sauces you get). Rico Taco Mex is also delicious but I recommend picking up in person; delivery app experiences have been mixed. Los Gueros is a chain but I’ve only enjoyed eating from this location and their taco Tuesday special can’t be beat. Get their salsa verde and an order of nachos too!

It would be a tight squeeze. You’d be better off in Delaware or Maryland if you’re committed to being in the region. Jersey is VERY expensive. Most people I know are in the six-figure range and aren’t living lavishly.

For those that keep celebrating these warm winters and little to no snowfall: Ski resorts will be in trouble, more people will go up north and places like Mountain creek will suffer. Mom and pop hardware shops will close, independent contractors for snow plow wont have any extra income. More ticks and pests for the summer. Kids wont know what a snow day is

It all depends who I'm talking to and what are they asking.

If I'm talking to an American outside of NY/NJ than I identify as New Jerseyan

If I'm talking to a person when traveling abroad than I identify as an American

When I talk to fellow a New Jerseyan than I identify as immigrant from the country I immigrated from.

When I'm back in my home country I identify as an American to fuck with them and because America is where the home is.

My daffodils have already sprouted. My strawberries are too. The sassafras buds are swelling. So many spring time birds around…it’s insane honestly

Everyone I know here earns 6 figures it would be extremely challenging IMO

Also NJ is considered to be one the most expensive states to live in-

My wife spotted a tick had bitten me last week after doing some yard work. Didn't even cross my mind to be doing tick checks in January. Removed it and the doctor gave me the all clear and a dose of doxycycline, but gotta monitor things for a while now

Where in NJ? The difference is huge. And how soon can your husband look for jobs? I understand there is the working permit thing. If you don’t have i140 approved yet, or even your PERM hasn’t started yet, you will need at least 2 years to get them. Then your hubby can apply for EAD. That means your hubby either will have no income or do illegal work. (Which is a huge risk for you since you are legal.)
So the best way is you come here alone. After you getting your i140 approved, get your husband here. Of your company doesn’t even sponsor your green card now (ie only h1b, no PERM/i140, etc), DO NOT move with your husband with 65000 salary in NJ! You will be miserable. UNLESS you two have huge savings in your current country.
