If your planning on working in Nj, moving to Brooklyn or Queens is, to put it bluntly, a really stupid fucking idea. It’s one of the worst ideas you could have. I’m not even going to waste your time trying to give you ways to do that commute, because no one does it if they have a choice. You couldn’t pick a worse place to live if you plan on working in Nj. May I ask what makes you think this is a good idea? Do you not understand that this will likely be a 2 hour commute each way?

18 in roughly 2000, $0 except for grants, college student, too much, not really, yes

Never moved back in, my family are a bunch of abusive assholes, glad the dead ones are dead and the rest are out of my life. My parents dropped me off at my dorm, I brought my first load of crap up, and they left while I was carrying stuff up, the rest of my crap sitting on the sidewalk. That night, I walked around campus and truly felt free to be myself.

It's 20+ years later, and I'm the happiest I've ever been with a good family, kids, beautiful house, great job. None of this would be possible if I stayed under the corrosive cloud of my family.

Interesting! Asking from a customer perspective, I always assumed that the app groups together other orders that are close by pick ups and drop offs and that’s how the delivery persons are able to support even smaller ticket deliveries. Is that not the case?

I always think about how much to tip? Is it x% of the order amount ( e.g., 20% of $15 order doesn’t seem to be enough in the suburbs) or is it $x based on the distance and time for delivery?

I’m also 26. At 20 while in college I moved in with my ex and her family. 2 years later I graduated, got a job, and in six months I bought a house. I didn’t have much for credit history but given my degree (engineering) and perceived job security I was approved for a mortgage. During those super low interest rates I refinanced.

I currently commute from the tip of Bergen County to Edison. Takes about hour 20 (I skip both the tolls, take local) in the morning. In the evening takes the same time but with tolls. This is door to door but it also helps my house is close to the parkway exit so virtually no local driving after taking the exit in the evening.

I’ve lived in AH for several years, and in my experience, North Jersey Shore seems to work best. It fits the coastal character of the community and isn’t as vague as just “central.”
