RWJ in New Brunswick is good for major surgery, Penn Medicine in Princeton is great for ER visits and maternity, and Jersey Shore is pretty good all around.

Best for what? Like are we talking best for delivering a baby or best for open heart surgery?
The two “best” hospitals in my opinion were Princeton and St. Peter’s. Princeton is the nicest hospital I’ve ever been in, St. Peter’s is where I want to go if my life is in danger.

Best overall? best for a particular specialty?

Jersey shore is great, not sure if it’s considered central here

Can't tell you the best but you are right not to trust US News. I know a few hospitals that no longer submit data to US News for consideration as "best". According to those hospitals US News chooses the "best" based on "donations".

Riverview isn't half bad. But I am so confused what the news has to do with anything.

There was a great one in Milburn that was around forever, that i forget the name of. I recall hearing it closed maybe 5 years ago.
Also was one way back in the early 2000s in hoboken that was good, and had a crazy eclectical cast of characters in their revolving door of staff. i must have ate their weekly for a few years from when i first moved in, until when they closed down.

That's what I did! They also have breakfast foods (and lunch iirc) and more options than Wildflour or Papa Ganache. Highly recommend following them on IG for specials!

I haven’t had the others but Broad Street Dough Co is really good. I’m near their Ocean/Oakhurst location on Rt 35 & have been there many times. They also have vegan donuts and all of their products are certified kosher.

Ashley’s Organic Desserts does a lot more than cakes including a variety of different types of pastries. Good luck on finding some good croissants! I have the same allergies as my son plus a few more. Good baked goods are hard to come by.

Used to be one in Brick (J.P. Lee's) but it closed a couple years ago after being here at least 20 years.

So sorry to hear Khans closed. Went there many times with friends, and I agree - that sesame bread was legit.

Ooooooo, you’re right, I almost forgot about the sesame bread. Really sad it closed, that was the only place for miles around.

I’ll have to check them out. I’m more in the boat that I miss pastries and treats after having to stop eating gluten a year ago, but it is great to know she does custom cake orders.
But I miss croissants so much.

I am honestly shocked. They were so good. Always packed. That’s upsetting but I hope they’re ok.
