My neighbors moved to CA a few years ago and shipped their car. They have young kids so driving across the country was not really practical. A big car carrier came to the house and they drove the car onto the truck. I believe they said it would take about 2 weeks for the car to arrive in CA. I am not sure what company they used or how much it cost.

Your commute is going to be awful, and the costs of tolls, gasoline, vehicle wear and tear are going to eat up any meaningful savings on rent. You say North Jersey, people here are assuming you’re talking about Essex/Hudson/Bergen.

I’m not really in north north Jersey. I’m working along the coast. Toms River is just as far for me as Edison and a lot of their bigger N. Jersey towns. I did look bc I have some friends up there but the housing is more expensive and it’s not a shorter commute and even more congested.

Sorry but I’m not going on Craigslist/Facebook ect looking a for a stranger to live w/. Also edison is just as far from my job as Toms River and more expensive than central Jersey so no. My current roommate is someone I’ve know for years and actually want to live w/.

Hard to swallow pill: if you cannot live on your own, it’s time for a new roommate. You should live in North Jersey or at least north of Edison for your new job. Find a new roommate in this area.

Oh man, I see this happening to me. I was actually commuting into the city until the pandemic and then was assigned to remote work in NJ last spring. They've already gotten taxes from me that I shouldn't have paid since I haven't worked in NY since 2020.

There’s been Verizon workers checking the pole outside my house for the past hour. They keep leaving and coming back. A lot of yelling.

My recommendation would be to respond to the letter with all of the facts you have at your disposal-copy of the letter appointing you to a home office, how your company determined it was a bona fides company office, a cover letter explaining what you explained in the post, etc.

If they start assessing tax after your response, would probably be a good idea to get an accountant to take over before you pay it

look for timing belt specials at local honda dealers most cases they will be cheaper and they use oem parts.
