I worked at the one in JC in high school in the 80’s. Made a whopping $3.35/hour!

I love the smell of Creosote - but hated painting fences with it as a kid.

Just realize, with unemployment any and everything starts from the day you apply.

Fireman already built one golf course with public money and he wants to expand it on public land and then use the rest of the park as a grab-bag for private developers to take state money to build sports stadiums and concert venues on a park that should be a free, open and public resource for passive enjoyment of nature and active, outdoor community sports.

Reply to Moving from NJ to California by bartowskii77
I moved to San Diego back in 2003. The drive there was an experience I loved. Would highly recommend. Although when I moved back 2 years later the drive back was the worst experience of my life and would not recommend. Hope this helped.

Only your parents called it Rickels - like there was no S but in NJ the elders added it

Anyone remember the jingle? It’s been in my head for 40+ years. “Rickel’s helps you do it better. Do it better with Rickel’s”

Great. Now I have the Rickel jingle in my head.
"Rickel helps you do it better.... do it better with Rick-el!"

Back in the day. Across the street was a Roy Rogers and a bowling alley in a big empty parking lot. Also Caldor if I remember correctly was where Kohls is now.

No “Beach” is really private, just the access to it. So you can walk along the water anywhere you like. The rich keep us out by restricting parking and walk- on access. If you go to other states you can easily access beaches, rivers and waterways. In Hawaii you can walk through ANY hotel lobby and access it’s beach.
In NY, there are scenic pullovers all around for you to pull over and take pictures, have a picnic,..walk down to the river,or lakes…. Not here.
It’s only for the rich. Or the 27.5 parking spaces provided by the state at one of the no-access points.
Or you can pay again to enter one of our beautiful state parks which you ALREADY PAY for with your tax dollars…
