Reply to Can someone explain the justification for having "private" beaches? It seems like access to natural attractions should be free. by SnooBooks4898
We recently moved to one of those towns and it is amazing, but we always feel a bit weird about the whole situation. Not that many lakes with public beaches to choose from - maybe Hopatcong?
But coming from Maine you were a bit spoiled for pristine freshwater swimming opportunities.
In contrast, I grew up in the Midwest, where every public freshwater beach was crowded and generally gross.

Maybe type in street fair. There are also FB groups that post craft events by state.

A) Make things look like ugly generic condos (See Garwood as an example) B) Drive up prices C) Drive out Hispanic population D) Gentrification
It'll be generic shit all over or just more condos and then more condos.

I’ve found some stuff on Eventbrite for pop up shops. Is there any other place I should look to find events?

if we go back far enough you could make that argument lol. all i’m saying why do we choose that time period (first few centuries AD) to determine the inhabitants of a land for all eternity.
according to historical and religious sources, moses was likely born in egypt around the 13-14th century BC. he then led the israelites to what was then canaan, and what is now israel/palestine/jordan and killed the people that lived there. so if we set that period to say another 1500 years back, then the jews really belong in egypt and not israel.

Reply to New Jersey American Water: Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties to reduce water usage due to chemical spill by RadioNearby2926
Email from NJAW. Shortly followed by an automated call with the same message. Wife went to the store to stock up on bottled water and everyone had the same idea.
Hoping for the best, preparing for the bad.

My boyfriend and I go there every January for a night or two, we stay at the Chateau Inn and Suites. But we also go to the beach to swim in the summer.

Anywhere in NJ would be fine for me. I’m in Linden but open to options in the whole state.
I’m hoping to find a store that’s open throughout the week that I can stock up and drive traffic to. Flea markets are fine for the days that I can go and sit in one place to sell stuff but I’m wanting to set up shop at a brick and mortar location that doesn’t require me to be there everyday.

I do too, there’s a lot of competition here in Nj for this. There are plenty of weekend events though if you look for them.

The NJ State Criterium championships (bike racing, i.e. dudes in spandex) were held in Plainfield a few years back. It was nice to go and see just how nice the downtown area has become. I’m rooting for it to continue to grow.

You didn’t say where you were located. There are a few good flea markets with indoor spots. Columbus, Englishtown and Collingswood.

I drive through there a lot but have never walked around so I'm curious about the area because I've heard mixed things about Plainfield (and experienced shadiness there first hand, but that can happen anywhere).

My wife donates a portion of her paycheck to her local Union every month and gets absolutely nothing in return. Does that count?
