Can you blame it though? It’s not a great place. Someone gets shot there pretty much every week.

Tweens are like 8-12, 14 year olds are at least in high school. Steel pier probably a decent idea for them.

If this was Asbury park? Sure I guess. I lived in Newark for 8 years and still work there. I would not let my teenage children walk around AC alone for hours.

Do not let kids run around on that boardwalk unsupervised. There’s stuff to do but other than the arcade it’s not very friendly family at all. Try ocean city. It’s the best/safest for families and kids.

No parent with a clue is going to sign a permission slip to let their tween wander around AC.
That's nuts

Me and a couple of my friends encountered one last week in Norvin Green State Forest. Right in the middle of our trail. Just kept a distance, stayed quiet and after a couple minutes, it looked at us once an walked off the trail. My friends nearly shit their pants

Don’t leave those kids in AC alone. Take them to ocean city instead

I believe the Showboat is opening or just opened a water park. Other than that, I would not let them go unsupervised because kids are kids. You may not openly see it and I have been to AC millions of times & never had a problem, but there is some riff raff on the Boardwalk. You can't be too careful these days especially with other people's kids & you are supposed to be supervising. There is one pier with rides near Resorts & the Hard Rock.

Yesterday was definitely a weird day for driving. In a span of less than 2 hours I saw 2 different cars driving the wrong way on a highway on-ramp on I-280. I also saw a guy (NY plates, of course) approach an on-ramp and come to a complete stop. I had to slam on my brakes. He then just proceeded to enter the ramp like nothing happened.

As someone who was in a group of 14 to 16-year-olds when I went to AC (I was 16) I can 100% tell you, don't do it.
In the span of 30 minutes we were:
