It's a backup that you 99% will never have to use. Bears, especially deep in the woods, do not want to interact with humans. Only time you ever might have an issue is if you have food on you. Regardless, as long as you don't spray a person, you're never going to have to answer to the law about it.

That’s a good point. the car currently has that indicated on the title but I believe the odometer couldn’t be read at the time due to pixel failure. Otherwise, the mileage hasn’t done anything funny like going backwards etc. I’m not going to check the box, do you know if the “exceeded mechanical limits” part will go away?

Wear your PFD at all times. No matter how warm the day is, no matter how calm the water is. You can always spot the hacks and novices because they’re sitting on theirs.

Also, you may want to join a canoe club. They run trips with seasoned paddlers. And trainings. I learned how to paddle fast moving water and how to rescue other boaters thru the Mohawk canoe club.
