This is really cool! It looks to me like they’re filming a prison scene or a mental hospital scene or something. Zooming in, I see lots of 1970s or 1980s style police cars, ambulances, a few news trucks. Plus the search lights - with all that detail they must be shooting outside soon, too.

We’ve had a few movies being filmed in Elizabeth lately, as well. “Day of the Fight” was filming here in September or October last year on the backstreets of the Peterstown section, and “Your Monster” was filming somewhere on East Jersey near Broad (either near or at the old Ritz theater).

At least 2 major studios (Netflix and Lionsgate) are setting up shop in NJ, too, thanks to the tax breaks (which I think is awesome), so we should be seeing a lot more of this type of thing in the coming years.

I don't know much about Irvington tbh, I grew up in Kearny so I'm familiar with Newark and Jersey City. I'd feel safest in North Newark (Branch Brook Park area) or in the Ironbound section in Newark imo. Jersey City has some decent spots too and public transportation is a easily accessible in both.

That helps explain the fleet of Gotham-branded cars parked in Carlstadt.

Depends on what your needs and budget are, but Irvington has the least amenities of the three you listed (small town, big pockets of underdeveloped, no train station).

Irvington has some nice quiet parts, but if you’re going to deal with urban issues, you might as well live in a larger city if the home prices are comparable.
