Generally middle schoolers are a pain in the ass, but kids are usually pretty good to their esl teachers because it’s a fun break from the rest of the day. I think you’ll be fine. I teach in Newark where the crime rate is much worse and I love it. My kids are awesome!

I went to school in Monroe, she was also my principle in middle school. I never had any interactions with her, but her husband was my history teacher, freshman year of high school; he was such an asshat. He was your typical “anti-everything” conservative, but his prideful ignorance and machismo brought it to the next level.

Also, after watching the whole video, I’m pretty sure I was friends with this girl they are talking about. This is really fucking sad. She was such a nice and funny person, I knew she was having issues, but I never knew all this.

Also - I know this as a dog owner whose #1 use for those plastic bags was #2 - that you can order bags comparable to the grocery store bags online now, something like $20 for a few hundred. So if you can get plastic bags, and still use plastic bags the "ban" is only banning stores from giving you plastic bags.

A few years I did the volunteer beach clean up, they usually do it around this time to get the beaches ready for the season. This was before the plastic bag ban. We got big black plastic bags (plastic!) so we could walk the length of the beach and pick up what we found. Except for cigarette butts and an occasional "poo bag" that someone left on the beach instead of tossing in the trash, most of the "trash" was seaweed, broken shells, scraps of driftwood a couple beer cans or bottles and the occasional sock or flip flop.

Does your school have any clubs? Even though you take classes online, if your school has clubs, that might be good ! Otherwise I second the other recs here - the only caution about Bumble BFF is I've heard there's still a LOT of MLM recruiters on there , so just be warned about that. Good luck !

Oh! Come on, now! Don't be a pansy!

If your singing sounded terrible then it probably sounded exactly like Springsteen. I mean, Springsteen, from all accounts is a great guy, but his singing ain't no better than Dillon's!

If we want good singing, we'll listen to Mario Lanza, or even <shudder> Sinatra. Not Springsteen!

Besides which, it sounds like you may have influenced some Bostonians to stay clear of Jersey. I mean, those drivers there are crazy, a real menace!

I’d say “that’s not true. And I have the documentation to prove it. I can show how I handled it.”

She didn’t say that. And she made it a he-said-she-said. Which was…. an interesting and immature choice to make.

The mom has evidence from the therapists at least. Hope she finds the police incident too….

I found it insane that they didn’t say anything about having the ability to prove it wasn’t true calmly, rather than lash out and look like she wanted to punch that moment in the face if they were off camera.

If its just for the summer try /r/njit or /r/Rutgers or idk if Montclair state has a subreddit. I've seen multiple students sublet apartments in the summer if they won't be around. Those colleges are close to whippany.
