I've moved a lot! The worst/ most expensive thing to do is to sign a year's lease...

Funny you should say that. One just reached out to me on here. And that was the first question I asked. In his case, the landlord pays the fee. Interesting how that works!

Of my apartments I’ve had here in jersey (both in central and south jersey) my dad has been my guarantor even though he lives in SC! It’s worth trying!

Why do you think we would run you out of your own terrible, terrible home full of terrible, terrible karaoke singers? You ruined their bar, not ours.

Hey, I'm happy to see you accepted a teaching position since we last spoke! Echoing what others said below to try to find someone who owns an individual property as opposed to a complex. New Brunswick and Piscataway are good bets since they're college towns. Look for Middlesex County groups on Facebook as people will often post there. Even if you do end up in a larger complex, mentioning that you're a teacher usually has some type of perk. My husband was able to get our security deposit down to $250 since we were renting in the town that he works in.

Is it actually true that 15 minutes could save you 15% or more on your car insurance??

Try Highland Park too! Great little town and it’s where I rented my first apartment 12 years ago.

That’s really cool! My oldest son took a film/video editing course throughout his 4 years in High School, but after graduation he decided that working with his hands (plumbing, carpentry, etc) was more his style.
Do you know of any websites or Twitter/Facebook/etc accounts that regularly update what, when & where filming is taking place in the greater NJ/NYC area? There was a NYC Filming Twitter account I used to follow a while back, but whoever was running it stopped posting. It’d be awesome to have a resource like that, whether it’s to avoid an area due to traffic or scope it out from a distance (so as not to disturb the actors & crew).

Fuck Geico. Never had a claim, never missed a payment. Same car the entire time. For no reason raises my rates $30/month. Bye Felicia.

I have had NJM since 1989. They are probably the best company I've ever dealt with on any level. Not sure where the bad reviews could have come from. I find it amazing that there's still a company where when you call, you get a human picking up the phone right away.

NJ is insanely bad with this especially in our urban areas like Newark and Jersey city. Meanwhile I’ve been in much less dense/urban areas of other states (particularly California) and they’re much better about stopping for pedestrians
