Yup. Whenever you see a “don’t do XYZ,” it’s because some did it.

A perfect example of this just happened to a guy I know. He uses these machines at work. He was training a new guy and explicitly said, “there’s no guard here, but make sure your fingers don’t go in. This thing’ll pull them right off.” A few days later, the guy know accidentally got a finger in there and was just barely able to save it. He got incredibly lucky and easily could’ve lost a whole hand. And now they finally decided to pay someone to put guards on those specific machines to prevent it.

You are correct but this is the official line and what is being sold to the Russian population. Russian population hears about Putin stopping NATO expansion and NATO expansion happening anyway, what do they think? Putin is weak and losing his grip. That's not good for Putin's power, which is built on his strong-man image. Nothing can destroy a strong-man image than losing a war he thought he'd win in a week.

I suggested this after Roe v Wade and women, women!, were furious at me for suggesting a strike.

Copying my comment from above

>All I hear from other Americans when I suggest a general strike, such as after Roe v Wade was overturned, is anger at me for being so entitled so as to 'be able' to not work. They have to make ends meet, they say it's a ridiculous idea and a general strike is only for the privileged who can afford it. They can't think long term to see past their nose, they're in survival and are not in unions that will back them up.

>It's infuriating. The apathy and settling and acceptance is baffling.

If you think hate speech is acceptable and are defending it, you have a seriously questionable understanding of empathy.

If you have depression because of downvotes and are afraid it means you're being cancelled, then you should look at getting some help with that.
