Hawaii was looking for tourists not to come largely because COVID was still a thing at the time and service workers were still locked in quarantine while dealing with active COVID cases.

Yea, the building was not wearing a high vis vest or was crossing without looking. Or is that only the argument for pedestrians/cyclist being hit by a car that is speeding?

The NTC stands for Научно Технический Центр, and indicates that the company is likely closer to a US FFRDC than to a normal private company. Mostly geared towards managing government R&D, but with private clients too. This is a lot more like MITRE than like NSO group.

This reminds me of that time Hitler was introduced to the Nazis for the first time when he was assigned to spy on them for the German government.

Police say they don't know the identity of the victim, but the he is a rapper.
How can they know his occupation, but not his name?

They edited out the children's screams in footage of the Uvalde shooting that was shared on the news. They said it would be too disturbing to viewers.

The way my instructors explained it is that you, "stop the killing, so you can stop the dying. Get your ass in there and take them out."

I question why you'd sanitize anything about these events. The public should see them in their full horror. How else can you demand change?

What that site needs is a lot more ads. Maybe they could overlay an ad right over the text of the article.

I’d argue that it’s important to face the reality of these events- it’s too easy just to brush it off with how frequently it happens.

There’s no disconnect. These companies just don’t care about you. They’re making record profits by targeting wealthier, high-end consumers.

I drove around the Chevy bolt as a rental a month or so ago & that thing feels so compact & tiny! Way tinier than my prius @ home & I have a c. I'm 5'4 & my head just about touches the ceiling of my prius as it is lol

This is really going to piss off Putin. He was trying to expand his influence and now he's got another NATO sitting along a huge portion of his border. When the Ukraine war ends, they'll likely be admitted and then the only non-NATO European country on their border will be Belarus.

>I've personally been acquainted with parents that didn't give a shit about their own kids.
Being a foster parent, so have I.
In fact, just being an active parent, I've seen it. When the littlebopper was young, and there were school events, you always knew which kids had parents that didn't care because they didn't show up to the school events.
And having been in family court more times than I can count, it always dumbfounded me how people showed up dressed for court. Spandex pants or dirty, torn jeans. T-shirts, often inappropriate. I mean, you're going before a judge who has the power to permanently rip your family apart, and you can't be bothered to go to the local thrift store like Goodwill or the Salvation Army and buy some presentable clothes for the cost of a pack of cigarettes and a 40 oz beer?
I always wore basically my work clothes, decent slacks and a button down shirt. Except on Adoption Day, when I wore my suit and the distaffbopper wore a nice dress.

Fort Lauderdale has completely priced itself out of the spring break party market. Their hotels are full of people going on cruises and the hotels are priced accordingly. I went on a cruise in February, and the hotels were so expensive it was shocking - nearly $300 CAD for a Motel 6, if you can believe it. We paid close to $500 CAD for the Méridien. Any spring breaker who can afford that might as well party it up in the Caribbean.
