A McDonald’s in downtown Denver, Colorado, did this from open to close throughout the late 90’s and early 2000’s. I moved away so I don’t know if it’s still a thing.

As someone who lives in Wrexham, I can confirm this is true. Though... it doesn't work. The same rowdy crowd of drunk bellends still floods in around midnight though 3-4 AM especially on weekends.
(This is the same maccas thats had its front door smashed in numerous times.)
