Ahhhhh, thank you for the insight. I kind of get it more now, I can understand several similar village dialects to my parents' ("Teochew") despite not speaking the "Hakka" or "Hokkien" dialects, which always confused me because I didn't actively speak either.

Fascinating. I wish that such similarities between dialects could be seen more and more of a wonderful handy thing that connects cultures in being able to communicate instead of being used in the name of xenophobia. All dialects should be held as equal, not just the simpler colonizer one that we've adapted into communicating internationally.

Randos who showed up with zip ties and maps, planted pipe bombs outside, and erected a gallows? Randos who had hotel rooms stocked with assault rifles to distribute when the order was given?

Thanks for calling that out. It's always the same story. "I got banned for antisemitism for calling the Israeli government bad!" Then you go to the comment they got banned for, and 90% of the time its them arguing that Israel is an illegitimate state, that it should cease to exist, that Jews are "illegal immigrants" that "stole" the entire country from Arabs, complaining that Israel is evidence that "Jews didn't learn their lesson from the Nazis", and other BS that straight up actually is antisemitic.
