There are no partially smart phones capable of browsing the web but not browsing to facebook/youtube. Any "dumb" phone wont be able to do email/web.

It doesn't actually require a problem with the road. Rather, it simply takes something that requires a driver turn properly. I've never seen anything like this but there's a wall not too far from here that's been hit IIRC 4 times over the years. It's a bit hard to see the place to turn until you're almost on top of it, I presume the impacts have been drunks who saw the turn too late and went into it too fast. Drunks will fail to navigate turns, if your house is in the line of fire you're going to take hits. (Which is why I absolutely would not buy a house that could be hit by someone not turning sharply enough.)

Sums up the entire fiasco, conservatives want to be able to decide that their kids not learn what is basically human biology.

And the thing is, parents are entitled to be informed their kids are learning, but they don't, or shouldn't have the final say in what their kids actually learn in school. This is the entire point of mandatory education, because denial of education is abuse.

IT expert from Generation X here. I hardly ever use my phone for phone-related purposes. I view it as a portable computer.

Yeah... definitely will be dumbing down the smart phone for the lil one when it comes time to giving them one.

Internet Browser, Texting app, Phone app, Email app, Camera app, and that's about it.

No YouTube, No Facebook, No Instagram, No TikTok or anything similar to these apps.

I know even giving the browser might be much but in my own youth it was a great resource and I'll likely blacklist a whole host of sites if I can.

Seen plenty of kids with devices from friends & family and none of them seem honestly for the better for it; most have horrific attitudes or generally just struggle with some form of anxiety issue when the device is taken away.

Making the device utilitarian should help to prevent such behavior from occurring instead of allowing it to be an entertainment delivery mechanism.

Power without over site corrupts , which is precisely why a lot of cops and their union reps are corrupt af.

I think the real cause is unbridled capitalism, lack of Healthcare and education, and genuine feelings of hopelessness and alienation.
