The Met is a treasure of NYC and an inspiration to artists everywhere. I had the pleasure of visiting for my birthday last summer and was so motivated by the content that I spent these last months painting a 60" wide x 48" high acrylic on canvas scene from inspiration and imagination. The blank canvas quickly became an orange tropical scene and then ultimately 4 other paintings as I struggled to figure out what it was trying to say, what it wanted to be. Late nights (1am, 2am, 3am, etc) I'd sit in frustration as one small addition of white or yellow seemed to divert the imagery and it would be necessary to wait, add water, then paint again. Exhausting indeed! Anyway, after months of physical, cognitive, and emotional labor, "The Love of My Life" is done. It seems to be a representation of a relationship: it takes physical, cognitive, and emotional labor to find and sustain over time. I hope you enjoy this content and get to the Met when you can. It's a remarkable place!

Thank you! The Met is probably my favorite place in the city, but unfortunately they don't let you take anything home lol So I think unconsciously I wanted to produce a work that had that inspiration but also my own imagination. I wish Reddit let users share more photos to show the true dimensions!

I absolutely love it. Itโ€™s probably the kind of paintings I would create if I was a painter.

Thanks so much! If you like the experience of painting, I would recommend acrylics because they dry faster and you can always modify the content/colors with water. Sketching can also be therapeutic. Eric Kandel, the Nobel prize-winning neuroscientist up at Columbia has fascinating books on the brain and art. It's pretty intriguing research

When referring to a museum, especially one of the most famous in the world, you call it a collection.

Content is digestible quick bytes posted to online channels.

It's like going to EMP and saying their snacketizers were finger licking good lol

What a gorgeous piece of work! โ˜บ๏ธ The colors are amazing! The Metโ€™s the best, and itโ€™s so massive! Why, youโ€™d need a whole day to take on a whole section!
