Good! About time! Some programs like treated their residents better due to nicer program directors but others like IM and FM were notorious for overworking their residents.

It isn't that bad when realize it started as multiple towns and just filled in over time. Gotta cut some slack because it's a lot more organic that strictly planned. Plus the bifurcated addresses help: 150-12 30th Ave is at 150th Street.

NYC spends around $60,000 a year per homeless adult to live in inhumane shelter conditions. Obviously it's a corrupt system when just giving people the money for actual housing would cost far less. Graft at it's finest.

Deep tunnels work for trains that people take stairs/elevators down into. It's not realistic for a road that people need to get on and off of

>Prosecutors on Friday charged Lulzim “Luis” Shabaj, 41, in New York State Supreme Court with scheme to defraud, saying that he and his twin brother Gzim “Jimmy” Shabaj had stolen thousands of dollars from the Spanish-speaking workers by declining to pay them for their work at a site in Harlem.
>Prosecutors said that Gzim Shabaj, who was charged earlier this week, had responded to one worker’s early September request to be paid by pulling out a knife and, with his other hand, repeatedly punching the worker in the head until his ear bled.
A couple of cheap scumbags. I'm sure they'll get a slap on the wrist and before you know it Eric Adams will be one of their good friends helping to give them a second chance.

My roommate got lucky and got a 212 for like 50 back in like 2014. It was cause he runs a business and wanted the 212 but he probs wouldn’t have paid more than 100 for it.

They also belive in the same God since they are Abrahamic. People forget that because they are busy hating each other. Humans are mostly dumb and severely lack critical thinking.

I can't find this specific bill (I hate when journalists fail to include the actual bill info), but you can find proposed and passed legislation here: https://legistar.council.nyc.gov/Legislation.aspx
You can see the votes along various stages of bills, sponsors, etc. This bill supposedly is under Parks & Rec committee but I can't even find it under that so that could be misreporting for all I know.

I imagine the average person here has no idea which council district they are in, let alone that they even have a councilperson, or a state congressperson for that matter lol

I can’t wait for the people of New York to unionize. It would be amazing to see every New Yorker skip out on paying rent for a few years. For the utility work to give it to the people for cheap and charge the corporations more. Where every New York goes, so does the country.
