Reply to comment by akmalhot in MSG could force taxpayers to pay $8.6 billion if NYC doesn't renew its permit by HawtGarbage917
As if MSG was unaware when they signed the lease what the terms were? They knew this could happen, why should they not have to abide by the terms of the lease?
Don’t really see how what you’re saying is relevant.

They’ve done it before in the 90’s and early 2000’s in the Financial District, it’s not completely a ghost town like it used to be after 7pm on a weeknight. Midtown will be fine.

Uh, what?
They're trying to get around eminent domain value by not issuing their permit, the only major stadium in the city required to have a permit to operate.

When jobs go obsolete they tell workers to retrain, find a new career. When buildings go obsolete, the owners whine about how “retraining” the building is too hard and expensive.
No sympathy, not sorry.

As much as I’d like Kathy Hochul to nationalize office buildings, property owners are pretty relevant in this discussion.

It seems like the thoughts of property owners are highly relevant.

Cool. They have thoughts. There’s a file for those: Irrelevancy.

Why comment when you clearly haven’t even read anything about the situation?

Would be the 5th iteration, but technically 4th move cuz the first two were in the same place.

You couldn’t be more wrong. Residents run these hospitals

Lol lmao at the idea that hospitals are going to replace their thousand plus residents, who are doing 60-90 hours of work every week, with attendings who won't work that much and will cost 3-10 times as much. Just lol. And imagine taking hospitals at face value that residents don't provide value. That is, on its face, a stupid claim.

You can take a bus or drive there, super easy, lots to do. Definitely don’t pay for a hotel just to stay in nyc.
