Reply to NY lawmakers say they won't support MTA's planned fare hike for commuters by King-of-New-York
Exactly this. Have them open the books and show their budget spending first.
I am sure there is a lot of waste, wrongful overtime and pocketing of money.
I remember the last time they said they needed more money. Not from a fair hike but from the state and they said, hey let’s have a look at them books. Needless to say they came back and said, oh wait. Forgot about it we “found “ the money needed. There were error in the records. Hmm

She didn't "start" in a specific Republican district. It's not just Douglaston-Bayside. The plan rezones around commuter rail access. Because high density zoning makes logical sense where there is public transit access.

Reply to NYC has thousands of 3-K vacancies. City Council says that’s an outreach problem by Ok-Training-7587
I think a 3-k system is useless if it ends at 2 pm or earlier. A daycare goes to 5 or 6, when parents can pick kids up. Even UPK has extended care (paid) opportunities. I don’t know if 3-k does.

That point isn’t lost on me. I was just asking if there was ever a discussion around it, since the MTA is clearly in need of revenue.
If we can’t raise fares or introduce another fare structure, clearly the MTA is in a stalemate with themselves.

People are pulling their kids out of the NYC public school system. Enrollment has declined 10% since 2019. This isn’t surprising.

So criminals still have guns even if we ban them? Does that mean banning guns only takes them away from people who aren't criminals and care about the law? There's no way that could be true.

I believe they have started work on Broadway recently. The plan is for it to span from west 25th street to 32nd street.

If you're shooting people for funsies you probably don't care about gun control laws.

I think it varies by school, the hours at my twins school is 8:40-3:00 and you can pay for early arrival and late pickup until 5:30 I believe. It's funny reading all these posts about low enrollment because the school we use has multiple buildings, and classes. The school we go to has 4 classes, with 15 kids each, and there are two more buildings across the street and they have a few more schools in their network. The program has been really helpful for me, with twins, daycare was costing me almost 3k/month, plus they serve breakfast, lunch and snacks/fruit throughout the day, I recommend it to everyone.
