Sure, but so what? Doesn't make taking any pill these days safer.

Hi. This woman obviously has a New York accent, but it seems to be ... different in some way. Does anyone recognize if it is a variation of the New York accent, specific to some borough or specific area of NYC? Thanks in advance.

The costs have gone up vs inflation because other things goods and services have experienced efficiencies and there has been very little efficiencies in the MTA even 100 years later.
The second part. Ridership has declined during covid so there are less fares but the MTA is incapable of cutting service or moving around the schedule to meet changes in demand due to the union.

I remember going up to the booth with my $10 and getting a ten pack. It was little clear plastic bag with ten tokens. It used to last me the work week.

Oh the congestion charges. Thought you meant the streaming tax.
Nice copy pasta. It's basically a stipulation for a loan to make sure the burden doesn't fall on the subway rider, or MTA doesn't back out of it, because again, excessive cars have a negative externality.
Look, it's pretty simple. Taxes raise money, and discourage unwanted behavior. I mean they could also just ban cars. Would that be better?

The $0.05 was a political thing. Every mayor ran with the promise to keep that fare. It was the cause of the three systems going bankrupt leaving the running of the subway to the city.

The only thing this works for is pressed opiates. If you’re doing nose drugs there’s absolutely no way to test 50mg (likely less) and be sure the other 950mg are safe when it takes just a few milligrams to kill someone without tolerance.
Don’t give people a sense of false confidence with this test kit shit. It only works for presses. You should not be doing coke right now if you care about your life.

Exactly my point. To say he died from fent-laced pharmaceutical copies is a specious. There’s no way of knowing. He very well could’ve had a legit fentanyl patch prescribed to him.

Raising the minimum wage in NYC again will help raise prices for stuff this sub buys.

I don’t think anyone knows any more details, except the previous owner himself, who likely doesn’t want to answer questions.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MetroCard under history. It actually would make a decent dent. At one point, the bonus was 20%.

As they're cutting all kinds of drugs with fentanyl, there's no way of knowing how it got him if he was taking multiple drugs.

So, you’re acknowledging that I was correct about municipal revenue. Great we agree then.
We also agree that the MTA could be better.
As for the hukou, you’re either being intentionalIy pedantic or are having trouble following what I said.
Who told you there were other ways to change your household registration without buying property in a new city? Maybe if you’re a party member or doing research in a big city, yes, but otherwise that’s about the only way to do it. You can’t change household registration unless you have a new household!

>The MetroCard is a magnetic stripe card used for fare payment on transportation in the New York City area. It is a payment method for the New York City Subway (including the Staten Island Railway), New York City Transit buses and MTA buses. The MetroCard is also accepted by several partner agencies: Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE), the PATH train system, the Roosevelt Island Tramway, AirTrain JFK, and Westchester County's Bee-Line Bus System. The MetroCard was introduced in 1993 to enhance the technology of the transit system and eliminate the burden of carrying and collecting tokens.

Looks like the history of the MetroCard bonuses of it can be extracted here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MetroCard
Doubt it's ever coming back with OMNY in effect and fewer people pre-loading amounts to a card.

>This story is the equivalent of one of those white grandpas in the south calling the news because some Antifa wrote "Black People Rule" on their garage.
Of all the racial graffiti hoaxes that have made the news in the past few years, most of them were not perpetuated by "white grandpas in the south" so it is weird you are using a fringe example to make your point.
If you don't believe me, just Google "graffiti race hoax" and you will find a common theme with the overwhelming majority of the suspects, and it isn't the perps being southern grandpas.

It will be interesting to see how this develops.
I agree with the other comments that a restaurant worker not seeing a whole rat when ladling soup seems far-fetched.
Restaurant also making some bold claims on their IG page regarding the couple trying to extort them, while the couple claims that the restaurant attempted to bribe them into silence.
I suppose we'll wait and see how this develops.

The subway line will not be extended there. Maybe in 50 to 100 years. It would require massive emminent domain at insane prices for above ground and to cut under a lot of infrastucture underground..
Bus lanes to airports are useless. the BQE is a parking lot in rush hour even if you build a bus lane. the exit ramps are one lane. It would be an isane bottleneck effect and render the bus lanes usless unless you rebuild the BQE
