Oh look it's called "moving the goalposts" with a side of cherry-picking.
You shifted to picking one area where it's up (though trending down) and stopped talking about the others (murder, rape, etc.) where it's down to a greater extent. If we're talking about transit crime (closest to the subject of this post) it's down 13% yoy.

Manhattan bedrock is very close to the surface and extremely strong. It’s why the island can support the architecture that it does.

I mean if I have to choose between a fighting a crackhead on Lexington or fighting a very aggressive chicken I'll probably choose the crackhead because at least I know what to expect.
You can't really throw crack at a chicken and expect them to stop attacking you but I know if I throw some crack or $3 at a crackhead we're good

I was about to say I'm sure it would be a super easy Google search because everything is available on the internet and then a person right below me had already dropped you a link to it so

As long as we’re rethinking transit to LaGuardia, why shouldn’t we get a bus from Brooklyn to LGA? When you’re dealing with luggage, a single-seat ride (meaning no transfers) should be the goal.
There’s a bus that goes all the way from Bed-Stuy to JFK and it already has the AirTrain. Manhattan has the M60.

But they don’t. There are literally sundown towns & KKK in nearly every state. Again, why would you expect hate crimes don’t by blacks to be prevalent in the media like the crimes done by whites? Most hate crimes are done by whites so idk why you’d equate not many black offenders in the media as the media ignoring it

In this post pandemic world with some people doing wfh or a hybrid schedule a big way to increase transit ridership is upzoning near both buses and subways. Especially neighborhoods like Greenwich Village that are well to do and have constructed little housing

Just because they’re a smaller percentage doesn’t mean they can’t commit an equal amount or more hate crimes…
Do you understand how statistics work?
>it simple wouldnt make sense to use black criminals (racists) as the face of hate crime in America
And there it is lol you said the quiet part out loud haha holy fuck.

If you fix it*, they will come back: put the funds into safety, cleanliness, station maintenance, reduced transit disruptions/interruptions. We want our fares to be worth it

Exactly, stop playing and extend the Q44 to brooklyn. Add some dedicated bus lanes where operators can hit 45-55 mphs.

The MTA is currently doing a bus redesign for all 5 boroughs.. Finished the Bronx redesign and currently working on Brooklyn and Queens. Time to make your voice heard.

Your information isn't accurate. I don't declare anything fake. The uninformed assume as part of their argument. NYPD just released year over year as of Jan 23 stats. Overall index crime is up 1.4% and felony assault is up 14.9%. Anytime someone is actually victimized is, in fact, terrifying. Just ask the victim. That's different than keyboard declarations that are just, false.

Black people are barley 15% of America. Most hate crimes are done by whites and it’s been like that for decades 💀 it simply wouldn’t make sense to use black criminals as the face of hate crime in America.

Just as most white Americans don’t commit hate crimes. Yet, let’s not pretend the narratives don’t say otherwise.
It would make sense if both blacks and whites were held to the same standard. I have seen black people do horrible things to Asian people. Most if bot all of the hate crimes committed against Asian Americans during the pandemic were done by blacks or Hispanics.

It’s not large at all. Most black Americans don’t commit hate crimes. It wouldn’t make sense to blast it all over the media aside from reporting when it happened.

Yeah idk why everyone is acting like it was an outlandish idea. Most cops are from Long Island & Staten Island anyway at least until recently. NYers are used to seeing cops as nazi degenerates

Dumb question probably but can someone explain to me how the weight of all the buildings doesn’t just crush down through the tunnels? It always astounds me this doesn’t happen ever and I’m always a little freaked out by the idea.

Well right now it’s a mix of appointees from the governor, mayor, borough presidents, and county execs from the surrounding counties, and some union reps.
The governor has the power to appoint a chairman so they have the most influence, but in general it seems like most of these board members aren’t super familiar with the subway system or represent other interests.

Technology exists for this to occur and is widely used. The alternative is to not build anything. Or have LIRR tracks going over Park Ave in midtown.

Went down here back in 2016 and it looked a lot like this. It is absolutely insane to me that the end product looks like what it does after seeing what they started with. As much ire as this product drew from the general public, this is still an engineering marvel.
