Good then that’ll flood the condo market and make tons of 150-300k 1 beds in Flatbush available. Either way landlords have too much power and this bill is desperately needed. If you like licking landlord boot just say so. But just know if you’re a renter they genuinely detest you deeply.

I spent years living in the former soviet union and they still have plenty of pointless jobs like this left over. When I came back to NYC I was really struck by the similarity as it pertains to MTA booth drones.

Really? I'm always surprised when people visit NYC and have effusive praise for it. What, in your mind, sets it apart from London, Paris, Tokyo, or any other cosmopolitan city?

It wasn't a press release. It was an internal memo. This was never going to be discussed as a political point, the intent was just to begin changing how they name internally and then on website, signage, etc. without comment.

Why would LLs want to lease you an apartment with the proposed bill? They might as well just sell them as condos.

You didn't answer my question. What are the "harmful effects" of a culture whose ties are at best tenuous? Why does it have "harmful effects" and not other ethnicities' cultures? Why is something that came to being as you put it in the 19th century (in the means of enslavement, which was banned and eliminated by 1865) and improved upon through the Civil rights SCOTUS cases, Civil Rights movement and Civil rights laws over 60 yeas ago, still so harmful as to need seminars to overcome it? I'm not being obtuse. I simply can't get my head around this.

I would like the right to pay for a 1 or 2 year lease rather than pay more for a perpetual one

Reply to comment by prisoner_007 in Surge in DWI dismissals under NY ‘discovery’ reform could lead to tragedy: cops by Brolic_Broccoli
The article references only DWI felonies.
Dismissals are at 15% this year, as opposed to the pre reform rate of 6%, which is a 250% increase in the rate of dismissals.
It would be interesting to review the % of misdeamanor cases, which based on my experience (but zero data) would be likely much higher.

Am a LL and ultimately this bill wont impact me but I am noting the absurdity of it and its impact down road. Are we not in agreement we have a contract stating you leave at the end of term? Did you not agreed to that on signing? End of term is a good cause to end the agreement. That's the cruz what this bill violates. The agreed contract.

Not really - when a cop does, it's newsworthy. But the vast majority who do it are not cops.
