Reply to comment by acheampong14 in Can New York Fix Its Housing Crisis? It Depends on the Suburbs by thenewyorktimes
No, increasing the density of suburbs will spur local developments. Those suburbs will become self-sufficient, and will become cities. That will remove, for example, stress for transportation to the metropolis due to available local job market, improved local public transit, etc. The land use will be the same, since we are talking about increasing density, and not sprawl.

This is nonsense:
> “The woman yelled, ‘Knife, knife’ and the court officers were on the Trump-supporter like Voltron,” the bystander said.
I simply refuse to believe that 5 court officers merged together to form a larger court officer

I had to force my bike up and over a turnstile because the booth guy completely ignored me a couple years back, I'm sure I'm not the only one

Lol how is a smart thermostat is going to help a landlord with 4 units on steam heating?
Just let the government regulate them into doing it. Simple.

Or when you approach they give you a 10 second stare, then slowly respond as if you were disturbing them on their vacation to ask them about MTA stuff, and they're holding back their wrath to be courteous and respond. Some of them.
I've had waay more interactions with nice booth agents than bad ones, but the bad ones unfortunately leaving a lasting memory.

So instead of asking for help at the token booth and getting told to go to a machine or mail my metrocard to the MTA I’ll be standing 50 ft away and ask for help and get told to go to a machine or mail my metrocard to the MTA. Nice

Reply to comment by Reticent_User in NY officials detect polio again by Unstoppable2020
Honestly didn't know there was different variants of polio.
But CDC site linked by 2gat says that it's only one case of it in Rockland county:
> UPDATE: In July 2022, CDC was notified of a case of polio caused by vaccine-derived poliovirus type 2 (VDPV2) in an unvaccinated individual from Rockland County, New York, and is consulting with the New York State Department of Health on their investigation.
