Unless my math is bad, I’m pretty screwed rent wise. My friend and I had a good thing going getting a condo for $1200 per month with water/trash/internet included.
Now we have to be out by May, but it looks like we are both heading back with our parents because the market is insane unless you have a roommate.
Is $30/hr poverty wage now? I’m not trying to be hyperbolic, but I’ve used rent calculators and most of them say I can afford right under $1500 a month. Most apartments in a 15-20 mile radius range from $1500-$2000 plus without utilities included.
I’m just absolutely flabbergasted that I can’t afford to live on my own with an okay salary.
I guess this is a vent post, but I’m really trying to figure out what I should be looking at and/or doing differently. I’m nearly 30 and have to be returning home despite not really having any debt.
