Most studio apartments around me start at 2k a month + want income 3x the rent. So, does this mean I need to climb to 72k a year to live independently?

Basically the title. Is this essentially what people need to hit income-wise to live on their own in a major city? And is it a hard requirement for most landlords? If so, I think I may have to co-sign for an apartment to make this work.
