“How could Krasner do this to us” 😂
Great sendup of an all-too-common knee-jerk response to stories like this

Have store in City and worry about getting stabbed in the face, or move to burbs and charge premium to people who are thankful to not have to go into the city, hmmm

I write the headlines for:
• articles I write that appear only online • the print versions of articles that appear in print and online, subject to revision by the editors above me
I have no say in the headlines for the online versions of print articles.
I agree that one could draw the wrong impression from this headline. And as I noted, this is really nothing new.

I'm convinced those speed cushions are a full grift. Every time I see them they are absolutely shredded to bits.

Would never happen but adding double tracks in South Philly with an express stop at Synder, Stadiums, Navy Yard and Airport would be awesome. On realistic things - Cecil B Moore should be an express stop.

We can and should do this in a grassroots way. Keep large jugs of water, soil, planters and whatever we want to plant in there. Have a discord chat or something to communicate, and whenever someone notices an empty spot, mobilize whomever is available in orange vests and plant that shit. What could anyone say about it? The parking there is technically illegal.
EDIT: I’m not kidding. Vigilante beautification since the city has absolved themselves of any responsibility for this.

Also in South Philly. 37 bus wouldn't be terrible if it didn't make a million stops. Bus revolution had plans for a new direct airport bus from Synder that seemed much faster. Hopefully that actually happens. I usually take the 37 if I can catch it but a direct frequent airport bus would be so great.
Surprisingly Atlanta is hard to beat with their airport lines I think red and gold that hits so many neighborhoods and costs $2. Would be the equivalent of BSL from NE going all the way to the airport.

Every line in septa is timed so you can watch your connection leave the station. Has always been this way.

While we're on the topic of the BSL "express" line... What the fuck Septa. 5 stops in a row in the city and then 3 to the north. There has to be a better way to break these up.

PATCO and the Riverline are fine on weekdays during peak hours. PATCO is five minutes or less, Riverline is every 15 and sometimes a double train.
On the weekends, you can take just PATCO or just the Riverline, and you'll do okay.
But if you need to take both...yeah you're gonna kick a lot of rocks at WRTC.

I don’t want to give away my neighborhood, but I would try to lay as much trolley track as I could in 24 hours down a main arterial road in hopes that I can get a trolley route that gets very close to my house. Might be tough to do in 24 hours.

Major agree, it's honestly an abysmally inconvenient trip to the airport for anyone not on or just off of Market. The airport should be accessible within 30 min by most neighborhoods in Philly by public transit.

It’s a magazine written for the suburbs that, despite that fact, uses the name “Philadelphia.” No I’m not kidding.

Our office (burbs) does a lot of them but the people that do the engineering and inspection live in the city.
Curb ramps are surprisingly finnicky. I fail about 75% of the ones I've inspected, though I rarely do inspection much anymore.
They're supposed to come back and do a pavement adjustment so that they meet street grade (and so that water can flow correctly around them) but often that step gets missed.

That $ 2 billion estimate seems to have been around for a while, so I suspect that it has risen significantly by now, while the projected ridership has not. (I think that the damn thing will cost nearly $ 4 billion if ever actually built.)

Founding Fathers sports bar just opened a second location in Bensalem, but I don’t know if that would qualify as “well-known” enough.

There is regional rail that you picks up from Jefferson / Suburban / 30th st, etc.
So I, who lives in south Philly, must take a bus to 16th and JFK, then go back down on the airport line. If the BSL just went south, I would save about an hour on airport trips.
