They could put timed bollards in place so that you could still get deliveries and remove waste during certain hours

They should be running Ridge Spur everyday.

That’s good to hear! Where we live now there are projects and whatnot but the overall vibe is that people are happy and they get along with each other.
So I’m guessing a 13 year old walking or taking public transit to school in center city alone would not be out of the ordinary?

The next 3 stops are exactly the same and up until Girard there is a difference of only 1 stop. They often stop at girard for the transfer where it is quite valuable. No point transferring at Walnut, just slows both trains down.

Hello, I know I've missed moving Monday by two days now, but I posted a while back about moving to Philly and you all were extremely helpful. Now that the move-in date is fast approaching, my gf (28f) and I (28m) have decided on moving to Graduate Hospital! I am very optimistic about finding a great place to live, but I was wondering if there are any streets to avoid in the area, or is the area pretty much safe? We live in Saint Louis currently, where one street is perfectly safe and then you turn the corner and it's murderers row. So I know a thing or two about general safety practices haha. Thanks!

The Boulevard Subway is more of a lifesaver and stress reliver than trying to go out to the suburbs to a mall..

Nah fruit trees require a lot of maintenance and make a big mess. Not good street tree candidates

Rather than the police, do you think there is a similar hotline or department that handles that kind of thing for neighbor issues? If it weren’t for this guy I think I’d live on the quietest block in Philly.

Ya, I am really not sure. I know the realities of getting the police to respond in some situations is pretty tough.

Oh no, here its a small pilot study that gets renewed once, then funding dries up and we just stay with the status quo

(I use a composting service but it’s unaffordable for a lot of my neighbors)

Thanks for sharing! Both - a local community garden where all my neighbors could drop off their food waste and yard clippings and get compost back a few months later

I know this is outside the scope of your post, but you seem like the person to ask: what is the best course of action against residential properties in violation of noise ordinance? My neighbor (conjoined rowhomes) likes to start hardware jobs in the evening and carry on until as late as 11. Consistent and unbelievably loud banging of a hammer, with the occasional solo by the power drill mixed in. I have called 911 on him several times but they never send a car. Any ideas how I can escalate and get the city on his case?
