Could be dyslexic: I had a kid like that in school growing up (early years). Super nice, but massive issues with reading comprehension early on. I don't know if he was diagnosed officially (moved schools eventually), but back in the day they didn't focus on stuff like that and chalked it up to a general learning disability or something like that.

I think he’s done a good job holding Krasner and others accountable from his position in the legislature. But the mayoral campaign has been less than impressive so far. I do wonder if he’ll get the FOP endorsement, considering their handpicked candidate got yeeted from the ballot.

I'd think most people, after the last few years, are just sick of corruption and will just stay away from anything that smells of that. Maybe I have too much hope in humanity. Also, not sure where "White liberals are trying to kill off a Black man's candidacy" is coming from?

Ok, you’ve had your cathartic vent where you complain that others are idiots.

So, let’s switch back to being constructive.

What is this community advice you say works well?

Is there a city or neighborhood success story you can point to? A neighborhood that once had a very high homicide/crime rate that implemented this advice, lowered the crime, and sustained those lower crime rates, and did so without displacing the existing population?

ideally, there’s example where one can show two neighborhoods with similarly bad crime rates, one that did the policy, and another that didn’t, and then you can compare the two before and after.

That’s basically the gist of what a lot of academic policy evaluation papers do, but even just a place where you think it’s worked well would be cool for people to see.

Oh, of course. I'm a rational person lol. I know the city didn't get in my car and steal it. I'm born and raised in Philly. I love Philly, however, the older I get and now with a kid on the way, I don't wan to live somewhere that makes me angry all the time. I've been getting more and more annoyed and the car was the final straw. I was able to see the car yesterday for the first time. It was absolutely wrecked. The wrote all over the seats with sharpie and just absolutely destroyed the interior before crashing it. Shit is upsetting to me man. I'm just ready for a change.

I'd blame the manufacturer for being cheap, and TikTok for the Kia/Hyundai challenge more than hating Philly for it. Insurance carriers have stopped covering them in other cities because this is such a problem. Don't leave us for the burbs :(

I mentioned him in here a few months ago as someone who should be ignored.

He's not going to win. Despite being personally nice, he's a crook.

But if it is seen by some that White liberals are trying to kill off a Black man's candidacy, Brown now has an angle to work and free publicity to exploit.

He's more dead ignored than he is challenged.
