My neighbors have grabbed my packages, shoveled snow, babysat my son, and helped my family in more ways than I could list in a single reddit post.

A neighbor of mine was re-pointing some of the masonry work on his rowhome last summer. When he finished his house he touched up some trouble spots on his neighbor's house. That kind of stuff happens all the time and makes me love my neighborhood.

Honestly, I think the Inquirer is a pretty great paper. Their occasional investigative pieces and Spotlight PA articles are very impressive. I wouldn't give up the Economist for it, but I'd cancel my Washington Post subscription before I gave up the Inquirer, and already quit NYT and Bloomberg.

Agreed but they are recognized officers. there are many different types of officers that are deputized. Law Enforcement Officers are the ones we most commonly refer to but they are not the only types of deputized officers. Hell, we have multiples types of those around as well, Septa police officer, Temple police officer, but there are also non law enforcement officers around. Correctional officers, Court officers. So the blanket statement of "And it was not an officer" is totally incorrect. They are officers. they are not law enforcement officers (i.e. police).

Nope.

I don’t take the train because I don’t want to step in piss or worry about being jumped by the homeless.

Do whatever you want with your car narrative. The trains aren’t safe, and you have to be very aware while on public transportation. Some people don’t want to spend their commute looking at the sketchy person wondering if this is it

and that is exactly where reding comprehension comes in. Which department does Lt. Jason Hendershot work for? He works for the...the Police Department’s officer-involved-shooting unit.

No, he is not involved in the shooting. His department, the one that investigates officer involved shootings, is the one handling this. I knew it would be missed so I bolded that statement but apparently it wasn't enough for people to understand.

You are literally arguing that the person is not an officer because the department that is investigating it is the one that handles officer involved shootings.

Reading comprehension my man. reading comprehension.

Not true. I stopped riding the BSL and MFL due to the crime, excrement and bums. I walk or take the bus instead. One of my colleagues stopped riding them and only will take regional rail now to work. There are plenty of us who don't have a car, and had been relying on public transportation before. Ridership is down due to the WFH also, so not just the condition of the subway/el.
