A new mayor seems unlikely to solve our problems. Most of the major issues facing the city are symptoms of structural issues like poverty, for which there are not quick fixes.

My wife will occasionally have a rough period and take a sick day. She doesn’t call her boss and say she has her period so she can’t come in. It isn’t anyone’s business. Do women really want their supervisors and coworkers to know when their period is?

You have to neg it. Tell it you've had much more hydrating beverages and that you're not sure if you're even thirsty anyway.

It's not that cool of an attraction, but it does have a ton of historic significance other than being old.

it really was great going there before all the articles, always a small crowd, plenty of space/seats, etc - like a small farmers market. Went again somewhat recently and couldnt even get in the parking lot.

Extra points for pushing the potatoes through a ricer for an extra fluffy and smooth mash

I’m not sure. I work at the airport and the employee parking switched last year to a new company and we had to reapply for our badges and everything. I think they also run parking at the garage - it’s some kinda company that is national and focuses on running airport parking

Coincidentally, there are about 47 homeless people on Chestnut. This building should be used to fund some SRO space in the city.

I’ll be too busy driving to the movies tonight, six flags tomorrow, AC on Sunday, New York on Wednesday and the Poconos next week to care too much about people’s downvotes who don’t leave their neighborhood.

There's a big difference between remodeling a kitchen inside your house and redoing your exterior facade.

It’s also one of those types of stories where the tighter regulations help everyone but the people who have been raking in cash in an unregulated market, but all we’re going to hear about is how it’s hurting the people who were raking in cash.

As someone who moved from florida I can second this. I was so nervous moving here with the reputation of the people here, but my god the people here are just so much more friendly. In Florida there’s so many mean and nasty people, and tons of fake people too. Here, even when just talking to people while I was working retail, it mostly seemed genuine and nice. Sure there’s a lot more straightforwardness, but that’s so much better than vague disapproval.
