Man, sometimes when things get cross sourced so much it makes me believe the meme. We’ve like three or four different books citing individual passages. But at the start we’re told to look at what Jesus was up to right before the fig tree bit. In the supporting sources we should ignore whatever was going on before the quoted passage. I feel like some bits of theology try to make the Bible into some kind of code book make-your-own-adventure that only the devout could possibly understand. I feel like there should be a bigger distinction between the Holy Spirits influences on scripture. Some of these hot takes read like RL Stein books.

Matthew 21 (21-22) has been twisted so many time.

21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Nelson Mandela is a modern historical figure, we literally have pictures of likeness to go off of, living memory of him, his ethnicity is an undeniable part of his identity, we dont know anything about Jesus other than an accounts by authors after the fact compiling his teachings from oral to written accounts.

There is a reason why the western personifcation of God and Zues have similar designs.

Also during the reniassance there would be other political redesigns such as the more modern look of Jesus being based off of I shit you not Cesare Borgia.

Hey I've been to Fort Huachuca! It's definitely been getting a lot smaller these past few decades and not many people get stationed there anymore.

Nowadays Tombstone has some museums, gift shops and handmade hats, some reenactments of the duel from the movie, some saloons and restaurants. It's pretty good but pretty much everything has an entry fee.

Well sure it would be pretty offense to have a white Nelson Mandela, but people seemed cool with a black Alexander Hamilton. Turns out, context matters.

In any case if you believe Jesus is literally God incarnate his race is probably not that important, even if historical Jesus (which even secular scholars generally agree existed) was obviously a middle eastern jew.
