I remember studying this during my career. One of the most important things to notice is that the gold pieces were only hammered, not worked in a furnace or any other similar structure; not melted and then given form, if I’m not mistaken!
Also, at the time we were still morons and we found the concept of sheath for the gland endlessly funny, so we spent half an hour giggling to ourselves
