Blame Beau Brummell.

He was the guy who, in the early 19th century (so during the Napoleonic Wars) started and popularized the male standard of highly tailored and neutral coloured or monochromatic black and white clothing in luxury fabrics. Brummell was good friends with the Prince of Wales, who was then the Prince Regent b/c King George was mad, and of course Brummell’s taste in fashion as extolled by the guy who ruled Britain meant that men of means were quick to follow suit (pun not intended).

Before then Western men’s fashions were as colourful and excessive as the women’s, and for the same purpose - to show off one’s wealth and taste. Compare a Tudor to a Georgian nobleman and you’ll see similar use of colours. But Georgian-era dandy to a Victorian gentleman? And that was in only 50 years.

>Then there's the question of what to do with your corpse. I mean, sure, burying it is the right thing to do. But the fucking virus can survive in a corpse for years. You could kill every rabid animal on the planet today, and if two years from now, some moist, preserved, rotten hunk of used-to-be brain gets eaten by an animal, it starts all over.

The stomach acids of vultures kills rabies. They're an incredibly important part of the ecosystem for this reason. They can eat most any diseased thing and poop it out sterile. Rabies is scary and vultures are awesome.

Yes and no. Deaths in the US are exceedingly rare, but it's only because of how seriously we take rabies here. If you are infected and do not receive treatment before symptoms manifest, it is 100% fatal.

The good thing is that it is pretty easy to avoid rabies exposure in the US. Just maintain a safe distance from wild animals, as you should in any case.

I hate this fucking thing because it's just scare mongering. In the US, dying from rabies is incredibly unlikely, like, 1 in 300,000,000 unlikely. You should be much more concerned about your commute to work or eating too much saturated fat before you worry about rabies.

Holy shit, I found one of the fools that tries to win the internet. Unfortunately your “bait” is just stupid ramblings that show exactly why some people can’t figure out what to do here. It’s sad how many people our education system has failed.

A better take is underpaid people being abused because of their status probably don’t give too many fucks. The stupid people in this situation are the ones that can’t figure out what to do in this situation, not the one that made a typo.
