Fun fact, the moon was briefly used as a pizza stone by Ceres the Roman god of food, between 117-124 AD

I’d say that doesn’t look like the moon, it looks like a much cooler version of the moon an an alien planet.
I believe our moon used to have volcanoes, that looks like a moon that’s actively erupting. Awesome pic!

My stone split in two the other day after 12 years, I was depressed for a while after that.

I really enjoyed the delivery of your joke. I didn't even have to wait 30 minutes before I got the puns.

We choose to go to the moon, not because it is cheesy, but because it is charred

Depends. It can be as faint as a grey smudge or very very bright. Before this solar storm, I used to think the faded green was as good as it gets. Then I had a week of lights so bright and so fast moving you could easily film them with a phone. For the most part, they are quite faint. In the picture they weren’t too bright, but this is also relatively far south for aurora.

Dumb question, but does it really look like this with the naked eye? I've never seen one or asked that question.

Nikon D850, 24-50 sigma, and about 1 sec exposure.

Photo is gorgeous. The photographer who took this picture had to be in awe at the nature's spectacle.
