It is sad to say, but as a teacher, these behaviors have become the norm in many schools and the one I taught at. I had to leave brick and mortar because of this. I would see mobs of kids beating the crap out of each other inside and even a few blocks away outside of school...especially at the bus stop.

At this point, I don't know what a good solution may be. I feel for all my fellow teachers still working in brick and mortar in our city, and all I can do is hope by some miracle, these students can learn some common sense.

I’m a recent graduate and bought a house in the Southside Slopes about 1.5 years ago. Have nothing but good things to say about the area. The street I live on is a mix of families, college students, and old yinzers. Incredibly safe and can get to just about anything you would need within a walking distance. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions!

i rent out a similar size home built in 60s not super tight but not horribly drafty. tenants pay about $500 annualized monthly average between electric and gas together, water/sewage is about $100, trash is about $30. as others said some areas roll trash into the taxes.
