We had as similar issue. We went through 311 but in the end the City said that they couldn't verify the violation because they don't work past normal business hours. Go figure. We even provided photos and cited the specific ordinances.

Going to our councilperson was the way that we actually got some resolution.

Just got some very cheap Amazon blink mini cameras. We set them up inside against the window so if you have lights on inside they aren’t great. But if there’s no reflections they have surprising quality at night. You can get notifications when there’s motion too. We live near the break ins recently in Bloomfield and it’s nice to have some eyes on the street.

If you have the ability to run cat 5, you can get 4k cameras with color night vison from Amcrest for under 100 bucks. They can store footage on sd cards within the cameras, or you can pair them with an nvr. Feel free to DM if you have any questions.

I’m a big fan of Aqara but they don’t have outdoor camera yet. There is a doorbell coming sometime this year. Eve makes a good spotlight camera.

I also installed a blink system at my moms house and it has been pretty solid, although I fear that it’s probably the most easily defeated system. (Can just grab cameras if they in reach, not very securely mounted)

My dream is to have high-speed rail, that will go from Columbus, Wheeling, maybe Morgantown, then Pittsburgh and from Pittsburgh go to Youngstown, maybe Meadville, Erie, Jamestown, NY, and Buffalo, NY. Full-on Sci-fi would take that to Toronto. If you remove Columbus and Buffalo, we'd make the most amazing megalopolis.

Once that becomes super successful, they will connect it from Erie or Youngstown to Cleveland, Toledo, maybe Detroit, and then eventually Chicago.

For the same reason we don't charge prisoners rent for being in prison.

The state imposes and enforces the law. The state can pay for it.

Monitoring fees, probation fees, and things of the like can prevent someone from getting their life together - and create new "crimes" out of not having enough money.

Being broke should NEVER be criminalized.

With the exception of N/A Beers, the only thing you'll really find on the market are Radler, which is really just beer mixed with juice. N/A beers typically have an abv below 0.5%, whereas Radlers usually run in the 1.5-3%. There's a new d8 weed seltzer circling around right now. It's legal and low dose so you don't have to worry about getting brain fried off of one can.

Our mailman got hit by a car. Our car was sideswiped by a neighbor car but no evidence. Plus we had a dog bite incident that required going to court. Footage would have helped in all the situations so it’s just time to get a camera set up. Thanks for all the tips.
