Have you looked in to Murrysville? Its in Westmoreland county so you will save big on taxes plus Franklin Regional is one of the better schools in Western PA. Lots of nature and an easy commute to the city.

Spouse currently working at hospital - 10 years experience with his current job (sterile processing) and he's in school online for database management.

I work for the state of ND for Medicaid. I'm hoping that something opens up in PA that allows me to move into the state level Medicaid - otherwise I am a social worker in this state. Moving to PA - I can't transfer my license from ND due to the fact PA requires all licensed be MSW level.

I hope that helps answer that question - Husband will likely move into a hospital there until graduation

I would imagine your job doesn’t send you into situations on a regular basis where you might have to kill someone.

No one would want to be a cop if they could be without a paycheck for months for doing the right thing in a dangerous situation.

You seem to be focusing on the bad instances but there are plenty where a cop shoots someone who is pointing a gun at them or someone else and it’s totally justified. Should they be without pay for months until the investigations, grand jury decision and employment investigation is concluded?

Hello! My brother is autistic with sever sensory issues, and he has attended New Brighton and Blackhawk school districts and we have only good things to say about them! He is able to have aids working with him all day, which has been very helpful. The only thing is they are pretty far north of the city, about 45 minutes. So that could be a negative factor depending on where you will be working!

I have other family with a child with an IEP in West Allegheny school district, they transferred there after home schooling and are much happier there. That puts you around the Robinson area, which is much closer to Pittsburgh and city life in general

If you’re looking around the airport area you’d want to be in either Moon or Montour schools. I had a coworker with a child who had similar needs as your younger child and she was very happy with Moon.

Cops get paid administrative leave while the investigation is going on. Because its unjust to not pay them for weeks/months when they could have very well acted appropriately, legally and within policy. What you fail to mention here though is that if a cop is found guilty of a crime when a shooting occurs, they have to pay that paid leave money back.

Also, there are 2 investigations that happen when a shooting occurs. The first is the criminal investigation, where the officer has 5th amendment rights. Only after that one is over do they proceed with the internal employer investigation where the officer has to give a full statement and that statement is compared against other statements, bodycam, etc to determine if they violated policy and should be fired. The second can only happen after the first due to the 5th amendment rights of the officer in a criminal investigation.
