Bill asked us to do a favor to give back to the city while we had plenty of paying customers we could have been working on instead. Priya runs software for many major league sports teams and does well at it.

Your just assuming you know best and have to explain it to me like I’m a child … buzz off

That was genuine, not sarcastic. It is human nature to blame others when we're actually at fault ourselves. Big business didn't put the lead paint in the soil of my yard. If we're going to find someone to blame, it would have to be everyone from previous generations, not just rich/powerful people.

The people living there wanted the money to go to their problems instead. Their houses are built on a drainage channel and will never stop flooding. It didn’t seem to me like they made any compelling arguments about how the MOC would negatively affect them besides spend the money on bailing out their basements instead. There are two sides to every project and also a lot of shill involved so everyone has to think for themselves about who is telling the truth and who isn’t. There was a pile on affect of every activist in the city jumping in to hate on upmc and cmu and they took advantage of the local residents to get their chance in the limelight. The project was probably a waste of money and I don’t think cmu or anyone with influence really cared about it anyway. But I think it was more about using the schools as a punching bag than it was about actually helping the run. Now that the project is canceled, the activists have moved on to other nonprofit bashing efforts while the run is still in the same shit condition and always will be because saline street should be a stream instead of a street

I read the news article and they are facing arbitration in a class action lawsuit for rampant abuse towards women. One man, Michael Russin, is facing independent charges in court.

This kind of abuse happens to women every day in the workplace. I've had it happen at two separate Pittsburgh businesses. Telling HR cost me my job. I work for myself now because I can not ever go through that again. My mental health and sense of security in the world will never be the same.

Kudos to the brave young woman who has taken these monsters on. I hope she gets justice.

I want to pull out the distinction between guard ands officers being that officers can arrest students.

And then I want to mention that the ACLU report from Jan 2022 says black students are nearly 9 times more likely to be arrested in Allegheny County than white students.

1 in 51 black male students (Allegheny county, k-12) were arrested 2018-2019. The rate for white male students during the same time period was 1 in 316.

It’s the minimum, but I’m very pleased that the district is going to save 27k by not giving 4 more people the right to arrest students

I used to work for a company that sent an electronic certificate for everything too. Then they added some feature where you could create custom certificates (I assume for managers to do custom training with their teams) but my department just made up nonsense and sent them to each other like "best at heating up lunch". That was the only certificate I enjoyed getting.

Dude, they were residents of the Run...people who lived there. You're eager to call other people "condescending", but wow, dismissing their concerns in this way is just insulting and thick-headed.
