The residents of the run have been insufferable and have shit on anything and everything as PWSA attempts to improve drainage in their neighborhood. It’s been clear for a while now that they expect special treatment and a bailout because they chose to live in a drainage ditch

> “It doesn’t do enough given the severity and the frequency of flooding,” he said, referencing PWSA’s presentation that showed projected reductions in 10-year floods. “[Flooding is] going to increase with climate change and out of control development.”

> The project’s manager Tony Igwe said there will be reductions at other levels, too, but that no city in the country has built infrastructure to withstand 75-year flood levels. He added that PWSA is constrained by what the agency’s ratepayers can afford.

> “Whatever we provide for Four Mile Run we have to provide for the rest of the system,” he said, adding that part of their approach in planning is to create infrastructure that can adjust to future realities. “But we have to pick something that people can actually afford.”

My sons friend worked for them so I got a small life insurance policy from him. Within months they started calling me every day to get more. If I wouldn’t answer they would call all 3 of my kids looking for me. They would call after 10pm or early morning zero respect. They called constantly. It was beyond obnoxious. I dropped that policy immediately.

I completely agree, it's not a red or blue thing it's absolutely purple. Every once in awhile there's a strong union presence in a particular place that has a little more influence than others but it's rare and hyper local. I choose the RWU example because there appears to be a clear linkage between rail executives and elected officials coordinating against the interest of organized labor. It being such a large and important union I feel that other people interested in organized labor movements should be aware of how RWU was sidelined and create more multidisciplinary alliances with other unions which was the norm when they had more power.

I'd really love to get hands on with learning how to do neon. I hope there is a class or something in the future to provide that. It's a shame it requires a ton of equipment, materials, and space to even have a small set up. But I think it's a cool art that isn't appreciated as much anymore now that there's LED signs.

Friendly Movers was great to me and my friends when moving a few years ago. They are often mentioned on this sub when this question comes up. Very affordable. Not sure if they offer a labor-only service but I don’t see why not.

Nothing feels better than seeing scum bags get what they deserve.

Although it would be funny if we can brand them with a tattoo on their forehead of being fraudsters and abusers, I'll settle for jail time and losing everything of monetary value.
