I asked that in another thread and someone said it is not that deep and the engine/prop sticks down far enough that that plus the 5-6 feet the stern is in the water is enough to ground the boat in that area. Just a bit further down you can see where the riverwalk slopes into the river.

I have a great story about this.

I was living in Orlando working for Disney. This was right after college.

I was out one night with a bunch of my friends and we ran into a group of young attorneys at a conference who were all from Pittsburgh of all places.

My friends call me over to talk to these guys and they start asking me all kinds of questions about Pittsburgh, and make me prove that I am a true Yinzer.

It’s mostly landmark stuff and a few sports questions, but it ends with a guy saying, “OK, this will settle it once and for all. If you can answer this question right, I’ll know you are truly a Yinzer and I’ll pick up everyone’s tab.”

He then asks me, “What does it mean if I tell you, ‘Kennywood’s open?’”

My friends all look at each other quizzically because nobody has any idea what the hell we are talking about.

I reflexively look down at my pants and say, “I hope it doesn’t mean that I’m about to be really embarrassed.”

BOOM! That was it!

The group of attorneys burst into laughter, and that was it. I was definitely a true Yinzer and we were officially all friends! We shared a bunch of beers for the rest of the night, and they paid for everything. Really, their law firm, I’m sure, paid for everything. Still, that was a good cheap night.

I've only ever had Xfinity since I've lived in the Pittsburgh area. It was rough in my first apartment on Neville Island, but since moving to the north hills I've honestly had no complaints for the past 7ish years.

Harold’s Haunt in Millvale (newer, queer, witchy and nerdy bar), Necromancer Brewing (1/2 staff and brewers are queer), Brillobox in Garfield (not explicitly a queer bar but good vibes), Blue Moon (gay bar that trends more cis male but has become more diverse these days).

My experience at Hot Mass was… okay. The music and vibes were good, but we went to a drag show that was supposed to start at midnight and by 1:30 they still hadn’t started… my tired ass had to go home to bed. So plan to have a late, late night if you go.

i signed up for a plot like 3 years ago at the one in highland park off stanton. was told it was waitlisted a year. emailed back 2 years ago to see if i made the list, was told its several more years. emailed back last year and this year and no response.
we walk by this daily, and see 1/3 of the plots lay fallow, and 1/2 are completely overgrown/untouched by late june.
Should i go guerilla gardening there? or should i go to a city meeting? so frustrating.
