This has been asked quite a few times in this sub. The consensus seems to be that between the railroads owning a lot of the waterfront property and the occasional foul odors coming from the river, the potential for good true waterfront dining is not fantastic. The wind can also be fairly strong right at the water's edge, which can make it uncomfortable depending on the temperature and messy as everything blows around.
Hofbrau seems to be far enough away from the river to avoid the smells yet high enough in elevation to still get nice river views. Same with the restaurants on the North Shore by PNC Park. They're not what you'd call waterfront/waterside dining, but they have nice river views and are sort of the best options.
A couple of restaurants at the Waterfront in Homestead have small patios facing the river along the bike trail too. I think it's Red Robin and Storming Crab.

And there are so many preservatives in the food anymore most people don’t even need to be embalmed when they die. Just saying.

There’s a little town just north of the city that is home to one of Pittsburgh’s Legends: Islay’s Chip-Chop Ham Barbecue. Genevieve has been a server here for 65 years, and she’s never missed one shift.
“So what exactly is a chip- chop ham, Genevieve?”
“We’ll, we take the ham and chip it so thin, some of it gets chopped!”
“Mmmm, that sounds delicious.”
“It is.”

IMDB puts the things people have actually heard of at the top, it seems.
Scrolling down is important.

It’s a thing. But you don’t buy it. You make it.

You'd be hard-pressed to find someone selling green bean casserole, too, but it is indeed a thing.
Personally, I hated both as a kid.

I’ve gotten several expired items recently (I do curbside pick up orders). They were noticeably expired, like looked gross.

I was once charged for a procedure. Well my insurance covered it 100%. I called to let them know, trying to be helpful. Thinking maybe it was some kinda scam. Lady was really crappy with me on the phone about it. Pfff… next thing I know I get a bill for $1,000! It all ended up getting figured out but it was such a pain.

One can of tomato soup, just enough relish. Simmer to perfection. I don't remember my mom adding anything fancy.
