So I have been in contact with the manager at the Link and they said they have not had anyone call in the past few days as a mother with 15 month old needing shelter. There is family shelter available.
If it would be helpful and your friend is open to it, you could IM me their phone number so the Link can directly reach out to them to find shelter.

I have seen 18-wheelers change lanes inside the Fort Pitt tunnels twice. Nobody should be doing it, it's insane and dangerous, but you'd think the people whose job is driving would have the foresight not to do this crap.

What makes you so special you think you should get out of doing it when the vast majority of other people oblige even if they don't like it?

Leaving school outa the Weirton exit yesterday going into the city there was a crew working on a barrier it looked like in the middle of the highway but didnt see a wreck. Looked like it was both sides had the left lane blocked off and cleared out after that

Bummer...as a kid pancakes were pancakes, so I didn't notice. Think I was more mesmerized by looking at the dancing neon blue flame sign they had out front! Plus, it was with Pops and nothing else mattered.

Reply to comment by esushi in Question: Does this sign mean I need a permit to park there period? by wisperino345
https://pittsburghpa.gov/dcp/faqs
Literally the city itself states
"Those without a permit may park for only a limited amount of time, which may be no more than a 2-hour period"
If they mean per day they should state per day. But they don't.
Because that's not what is intended.
The ordinance is to prevent long term parking on the street. Not limit total cumulative time you can be doing business in a zone (imagine, for example, a maid sevice doing several houses in the same parking zone)

They are used in large crowds to have an elevated view to see into the crowd and communicate where issues are to other cops that are on foot

Yup, you can see parking authority vehicles patrolling sometimes and just scanning every car they pass by (I assume thats how it works). I often spend a couple hours in the afternoon in Shadyside and start in zone Y, then move to zone U before the 2 hour mark and haven't had issues.

Guitar shops. Looks like Pianos N Stuff carries a 6 foot BNC cable, and I know they have potentiometers because that's all guitar knobs are. Waddell, Brighton, or any other store with electric musical equipment might have what you're looking for.

My suggestion would be to start sending thing priority mail and getting them scanned in at the post office and getting a receipt. You will have insurance up to $100 on the packages so if they do get lost you should get a refund from USPS.

Yes, they never leave Warrendale. After 30 days I just declare them missing and have to refund people. I do have tracking on everything. I sell vintage clothing, so it’s not like I can re-send a replacement.

I’ve tried 3. Dentists at Shadyside Place tell everyone they need a bite guard and a bone graft. Don’t go there. I actually skipped going to the dentist for 5+ yrs after this place.
So far, I’ve been using Polished Dental in Morningside and have nothing but good things to say. They haven’t pushed one thing on me and I keep going back for regular cleanings which is a really good sign for me.
Pretty sure holistic dentists still use X-rays. You need X-rays to look for voids in teeth which indicate cavities. They could poke each tooth but could still miss things based on visual inspection.

Reply to Is bbq chipped chopped ham a thing? My grandma says it is. Where in the city can I find this so I can satisfy ol’ grandma? by IMicrowaveSteak
Many, many moons ago, I worked in an IGA deli. We made BBQ chipped chopped ham with Isaly's, Heinz chilli sauce, Heinz ketchup, and brown sugar.
Start with a dump of the chilli sauce, ketchup and a good spoonful or two of the brown sugar. Heat slowly over low heat, stirring. Taste and augment flavor with more of the above, then slowly add in the ham. Add more "sauce" ingredients as needed to coat the ham. Serve on a good squishy bun. Enjoy!

I completely understand your anxiety (needles, in particular, terrify me).
Dental x-rays are really not that bad, especially with modern, digital equipment that uses less powerful and more contained beams. You're exposed to more background radiation on an average day, and then the dentist can see exactly what needs - and doesn't need - to be done.

Reply to Popular Pittsburgh Pizzeria Could Become Homeless Shelter by threwthelookinggrass
> Dominic Reale has seen firsthand the decline and deterioration of Smithfield Street. From the window of Villa Reale, his Downtown pizzeria, he has witnessed the street being overrun by homeless people.
> Reale, 51, of Green Tree, said he has preliminary discussions with Allegheny County redevelopment officials about converting the pizzeria into a shelter and resource center for the homeless. He said conversations with those officials, who could not immediately be reached for comment by Patch, have been positive. > Reale said he believes his building would have the capacity for about 100 beds on the second and third floors. He envisions the first floor, which currently houses the pizzeria, would be an intake facility.
> Homeless people "could come in and register, get a physical and medical evaluation. There would be job training and wellness programs offered. We'd have a clothing department so they don’t walk around with urine and feces all over themselves."
> Reale envisions that he and the county could partner on the project and perhaps get funding to convert the building to the shelter from health care operators such as UPMC, corporations such as PNC that are known for their charitable giving and local foundations.
> "I'd like to volunteer there as much as my time would permit," he said. "But this isn't about me at all.
> "I don't want to see Downtown die. I want to see it thrive."
