Chinese restaurants are typically open on Christmas day. It's a tradition for Jewish people who don't celebrate Christmas.

We are longtime vegetarians, and have been wanting to go to Palo. I remember Gracie’s did a great job for me a while back, too. Foglia in Bristol is supposed to be really good as well.

We do. I was shocked to learn recently that RI's only 2% Jewish. Just based on my friends here, I assumed it was closer to 10% at least. And probably Providence is?

+1 for Foglia, it's excellent.

I commute thru that area 5 days a week for the last 5 years. The other reddits are right. I only notice the smell traveling on the 195 bridges over the asphalt and recycling center on average 3 times a month.

Agreed with Persimmon.
Foglia in Bristol is also excellent vegan food.

Not necessarily a tasting menu, more of a traditional 3 or so course meal at a restaurant where you’re strongly encouraged to dress up.

How fine of dining are you looking for? Are you just looking for something reasonably nice, or more of a haute-cuisine tasting menu sort of thing?

Persimmons on east side is hands down my favorite fine dinning restaurant. They do a tasting menu to die for. Since my wife is vegetarian she orders the veg. Tasting menu while I get the regular one. It’s not inexpensive but for the money it’s a memorable date night.

No the hospital has been there since the 1850s.
Still your point stands as I'm sure the old coal port has and was built around the same time

I just got takeout from Four Seasons on Reservoir. It was busy, but not terribly crowded.
