I believe it should be legal for private parties to purchase private property and build apartments on the land they own, but assuming that were legal I have no problem with the government acquiring land on which to build housing themselves.

The only downside is that it can become a bit of a political football deciding where to put that housing. If the government is going to do it, it would be best if they did it by seamlessly integrating into existing neighborhoods, which sort of seems like what’s in play here, anyway, so I don’t have any big problem with that.

In general, though, I would rather the government simply give money to those who need it. That’s a simpler, more straightforward way to approach the problem.

Hillside on one side, Chace on the other, the street with India restaurant at the end of it. We're still looking for the 3 Sisters cafe cat Oscar, he's been spotted around there in the last few days. So we were out on a stakeout last night and met the little batman kitten!

Mostly biking. Happens pretty frequently to pedestrians, cyclists, etc. Likely very underreported as another mentioned.

Confused, do you not walk or bike around this city or area? There is a reason people literally sprint across. This specific cross is absolutely batshit.

I wonder if they could be siblings too! This one is from a litter that looked like it two winters ago and is very friendly/spunky/likes to walk with you around the neighborhood lol, so I don’t think they’re the same cat. What street is the retirement home on?

Hi! This cat is still outside!! It was shivering in the bushes near the retirement apartment last night!

We tried to get him to come to us, but he after he ate he was too skittish.

We got a picture of him and it's deffo the same kitten

Edit: Okay, the one we spotted looks like the same kitten, exact same markings, but is one is only 3-4 months old... but has the exact same face and coloring. I wonder if this cat is a she and we found one of her kittens?

Half of Providence's population is Latin American but most night spots are lounges and hookah bars, where little dancing takes place. The Latin dance clubs are fun and predominantly Dominican, so it's mostly reggaeton, bachata, and merengue playing there. A little salsa, but not much. There are a handful of salsa dance groups that hold events and lessons here. There's also a group called Providence Tango, located in nearby Pawtucket, that holds regular events and lessons. And a place in Somerville, MA (about an hour away) called Boston Tango that is very popular and hosts fun milongas. The Boston metro area is teeming with Brazilians, so you should have no trouble finding great options for that scene.

You’re equating consumable and commodity goods with housing. A low end car could be $20k to buy. A low end condo would still be $150-200k to buy.

As much zoning regulations exist that prevent like a 3 family going into where a 1 family is today, there have been massive amounts of apartment complex development over the past decade throughout Providence, Rhode Island, and Southern MA. Developers are already building to excess and none of it is affordable.

Even so, not sure why there would be opposition from the city/state to take over land not being used to build more housing. Seems like you’re just really pro private development.

The steeper the hill the shorter it is 😀 still need to get to the same elevation eventually.

I think all of those streets are about equal. Meeting is going to be the same. Main and benefit are both flat and parallel for that stretch, so there’s no real change between them.

The city is barely friendly for vehicle owners, we must fight for changes to that walking pedestrians and cyclists are safe and have a wide designated area for travel away from the cars.

Second metro nails! I don't have a "go to" nail tech there because I'm awful at scheduling ahead. But every lady there has done a great job.

Aurora has good reviews (and a very pretty location) but their customer service has always been awful anytime I try to call and make an appointment- there have been times I call 3x in a row with no answer. The gentleman that answers the phone and schedules appts at Metro ALWAYS answers and is so kind.

Happy I found Metro. :)
